The Rose Venice

Food was really good although I couldn't eat a lot of things due to my diet. All the people I know who frequent here love it. The menu is diverse with classics from around the world. It's like a fancy cheesecake factory but with a smaller better tasting menu.

Stopped in shortly after they opened for a coffee and peanut butter and jelly pop tart. I thought both were great. It wasn’t too busy that early in the morning so service was quick. The decor was my style and it seemed like it had a good vibe so I plan to visit for dinner/drinks the next time I’m in LA.

Wide variety of choices on the menu, most of it looked good. Generous portions. Restaurant was clean and spacious, our server was quite friendly, attentive but not annoyingly so. Will definitely go back; lots more dishes we want to try.

Went in on a Tuesday afternoon and were seated right away. Aside from the long hair in my food everything else was great. Service was fast and food tasted very good.

This place was recommended by two foodie friends and it did not disappoint. We had an ALT (avocado, lettuce and tomato) and tuna melt for lunch. Easy enough — but so well executed. Also had a refreshing draft beer.

Great for lunch, dinner and for hanging at the bar. Different menus for each experience and all delicious. Decor is beautiful and the restaurant is large; however you still need a reso. It is pricey, but still a fav spot of mine

What a gem. Breakfast was very tasty, and better than expected. Waitstaff was friendly and prompt. If I lived in CA I'd be here all the time.

Funky! They didn't have the cookies we heard about but it's a fun funky place for coffee, snacks, and meals. Let's is space inside and out! Had to ask 3 staff if they served at outside tables before I got answer. Odd.

Wish I lived closer to Venice to make this my go to ritual. Ambiance, coffee, food... easy and straight-forward. Doggy friendly 👍

I have been going here for a while now for business lunches etc.. and have recommended to many folks as a great spot. Today changed my mind. Staff got an later order wrong and I let them know that I wanted a regular latte. They then told me they ordered it correctly ? and I politely asked them to replace it. Staff seemed ill equipped to handle this. Food was great but we were literally ignored when it came to cleaning up and getting the check. Bill came they double charged me on the latte. I pointed this out and asked them to fix it and for my troubles to give me a free latte like in any restaurant charging $70 for lunch. Staff came back twice again with the check wrong and then just gave me attitude. Seriously folks I expect more. Staff were petty and odd. At no point was anyone rude but it was weird.

In for a quick bite of breakfast before I left to head back to Texas. Referred by a friend. Flour tostada with so much flavor and deliciousness layered on top. I'll be back. Great coffee

Hip decor. Friendly staff. Terrible music that makes me what to scratch my ears off. But hey the vibe is so cool 😎🙄.The burrito is massive and has ok taste. The coffee is great. And it’s all so expensive!! $$$$$$

The location is very good, I found it pleasant and calm. I ate a salad and it was so tasty. It's a bit expensive for foreigners like me. A friend of mine took a burger and he wasn't pleased. The staff is cordial and fast, I liked them a lot. If you don't want to eat junk food in Santa Monica, Rose is a good compromise.

Very hip place. Young crowd. Awesome bar staff. Awesome good cocktails. Great food full of strong, rich flavors well crafted.

My group had a really good time. We were here for work, but had a really fun dinner. Sharing food always creates a good setup for fun conversations. We were able to order food everyone could eat with Vegetarian and lactose intolerant party members (though they don't do substitutions or changes).The drinks and food were great, but the desert (we got the ice cream and cinnamon roll) was my favorite part

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident, and it was really nice! I highly recommend the seasonal appetizers. Very flavorful and delicious! I was not a fan of the main course pastas though. We tried a few different ones and either they were not that good, or the appetizers were so good that nothing could compare 🙂

Great food. Prices that leave you pushing out your retirement. Is it worth it? Well, I've gone several times, so it would seem so. The location is easy, the ambiance is chic and you won't leave hungry. You'll just leave slightly more poor than you'll feel was necessary.

I used to love Rose cafe and made it my standard spot for meetings and coffees and lunches. But this is a "high maintenance" restaurant. The service continues to be a little too-cool-for-school, the prices increased beyond what feels reasonable, they scoff at substitutions and, well, overall it feels like more work to go there than somewhere else.

This place is great!Really good food ,every item seemed to be made in house Drinks the same freshness and good and the staff is sooper cool.It has become my favorite place in Venice. Go to the bar and say hello to the friendliest bartender in all of Los Angeles, Nathan. That Sean , me, sent you.👍

From viewing the menu you'd think this place was special, but it unfortunately did not deliver. Of all the 6 dishes we had, everything was just okay. A but pricey for some of the dishes/portions, but not everything. I really would love to give this place a chance again. However, the service was friendly yet spotty. For a modestly busy Thursday it took 30 minutes to clear our last plates and grab the check. They did have a food runner and busser, both of whom did a good attentive job. Overall, higher prices for an imaginative sounding menu that just does not deliver on flavor. The bread and daytime cafe is more of where the Rose shines. For dinner it's a skip, several better options within a few miles.

Black. Truffle. Pasta. Seriously, go to the Rose now and order a bowl. It's as good as anything I found in Italy a few years ago: creamy, aromatic, the most perfect comfort food. Don't like pasta? Everything else is good too!

Great place for a breakfast. We came with our dog and the outside patio is perfect. The pastries are delicious and you must order one of their green juices !!

The food was great and the service. They have a great outdoor space and a really wide menu. You can definitely keep coming back here to get something new for a while. Highly recommended for a casual Sunday brunch.

Spectacular food, great service. It was a little noisy, but what else would I expect on a Saturday night. Atmosphere was great though.

Great ambience, really enjoyed sitting in the outdoor area (could get a little cold). The food was great, really interesting flavours and combinations, even with simple food like pizza. Highly recommend.

I just love the ambiance, the energy and the staff.. but for those computer techies there's not any power plugs so bring your battery backup. Prices are moderate for LA... Latte about $6.83. breakfast sandwich about $14

One of our go to’s for breakfast or dinner. I love the casual cafe or full dining experience options. Nicely rounded food menu and great bakery.

Very happening place, with good music and decent food. There's lots of space to either sit or stand around which is great if you're in a largish group. Service tends to get a little slow given the crowd, but the staff are friendly and do their best to get orders fast.

When Google Maps describes this place as Californian, they are 100% accurate. The place is the epitome of the LA culture. We walked here from The Anchor and it was about a 5 min walk. The street parking is free after 6pm. The Rose was busy but not too busy and there was no one to greet us so we grabbed a seat. They did have outdoor seating that had less people but it was relatively cold out and the heaters bother my asthma, so we decided to stay in. We waited relatively long for a server and eventually we went to the bar to order. The bartender was explaining to another patron her feelings as she made his drink. Eye roll. Finally a server saw us trying to order by the bar and came up to our high top to take our order instead. The service is why I'm giving it 3 stars, especially because they weren't that busy and the place definitely cleared out in the time that we were there.

This place is so beautiful. Loved the food, too! Will surely come back for more!

I came for drinks while my friend ate there. He said his soup & sandwich was very good. The soup was a melon gazpacho and the sandwich of the day was pork. He enjoyed his meal very much. The drinks are designed in-house and very delicious. We specifically enjoyed the spicy margarita and the rose mimosa.
